I am getting the week like: "we take minimalism and we add our touch" I think designers have all ready get the idea of minimalism + something more, I like the idea because now the clothes are becoming quite more wearable.

Jil Sander Spring 2011 (Wow!)

This season Raf Simons showed a new collection for Jil Sander and he probably achived what all the disigners where trying to achive: nice looking and inovating minimalism; after Celine Fall 2010 Phobe Pbhilo established a new way of thniking on minimalism and many designers have been trying to do the same but some of them did not achive it; But what Raf Simons did was EXTRAORDINARY, so far has been my favorite show of the hole season, the minimalism mixed with color, tailored clothes, clean cuts, and that shoping bags details (that I rally like) make the Jil Sander collection something unique.

The joy of dressing; Marc Jacobs´new collection was like the perfect description of what the joy of dressing is, the 70s, the chic summer girl, everything worked so well, really like it and I think Marc Jacobs is now (as I mentioned in some previous post) one of the best designers of our days.

Carolina Herrera keeped that elegance and sophitication that characterizes her, and those hats whare things that I really like of the collection they look ver inovators, Carolina is a women who is very interested in culture and knowing new places and that seems to be translated to her collections, really like the elegance of the Carolina Herrera women.

The Collection for me was: Casual meets tailoring, I really like the mix of casual with the tailoring details, the solids colors and the coats (specially the one on the photo). Also like the the suits, I think the sartorial twist is very cool.

I really like how people can mix the vintage style with a twist of modernity but how to make it look good and not look like a 1950 model? well thats my big question and I´ve trying to find it out untill I gett to the concution: mix it with modenity, I mean you are not going to wear your hold outfit from vintage brands, you can wear J. Crew jeans with Ralph Lauren Shirt and maybe a vintage Ferragamo belt and some som sperrys top siders, any sugestions?

Spring 2011 Collections, What To Expect?

I am really looking for what Phoebe Philo is going to show after her grate succes with Celine in Fall, Im hoping she surprises us again and to add a little something to her "new minimalistic stye"; I´m also very excited to see what Marc Jabos is going to show now that he is on the top of his career, maybe he will surprise us as he did in Spring 2010 collection for Louis Vuitton; also very excited about?: Vicktor And Rolf, I think they are showing the world that creativity and functionality can really work together; And last but not least: Chanel, Dolce And Gabanna, after the fall show that totally reminded us the emotional conection that fashion can male with people and the stuning show finale of the 85 girls on the man´s perfectly tailored jacket I think this season they will show us a new way of sexines and elegance.

Are this predictions will be true? We´ll know it in a few days.

I was thinking that many people uses vision glases and they dont really put effort on that, they just go to the store and pick whatever, I really love the "cool" frames of the glases (specially the vintage style ones), I have to use them for reading and I have the vintage "Warhol" style ones so I think that if you need to use them you should put a little efort on make them look good.

What does a picnic makes you think off?; This season Domenico and Stefano where inspired by a 1950s pinic and the result is wonderful, you can fell the American inspiration. The look completly great and wearable, when you see the clothes you fell you want to use it (on a picnic). The accsesories are wonderful specially the shoes.

Thom Browne did an extraordinary job this season creating the perfect actvie-elegant wear; the performance of the show was as always amazing, it take place in a stadium where cycling races are held and the base of it was biking. I think it has been one of the best Thom Browne´s collections and I defently love it, one of the best things I have seen in Milan .

The Calvin Klein Spring Summer 2011 collection was not as extraordinary as previous seasons (remember the spring summer 2010?, excelent one) it was very based on 3 patterns of color: blue, black and kaki; I thik it was good but Italo Zucchelli is such a good designer that I´m sure he will surprise with something better next time , however the inovation of the collection is awsome.

This Year´s CFDA award for best deseginer as we all know was for Marc Jacobs, he have showed that real women in the runway can be a big succes (as seen in Louis Vuitton Fall Winter)

and not just for that he also showed awsome collections this season and he, in my opinion is in the way in the honor place of fashion with designers as Karl Lagerfeld or Oscar De La Renta.
